The shmuessen were given to a wide variety of audiences, including kollel yungeleit, ba’alei batim, yeshivah bachurim, seminary girls, and housewives. They were then transcribed, but with a marked effort to preserve Rabbi Stern’s “voice” in the written word. In this way, readers will feel as if they are actually sitting in on one of the Mashgiach’s va’adim or lectures, and will sense the emotion given over in them.
